About me

I’m Tony Picon, originally from the UK and proudly one of the last of the Baby Boomers, born in 1964. My journey into the world of travel and real estate began on a winter day in 1989, when I left the UK with a small knapsack and a one-way ticket to Pakistan. Since then, I’ve embraced the adventure of exploring numerous countries, always seeking out less touristy areas to truly understand how people live.

My Passion for Travel and Public Transport

Travel has been a cornerstone of my life, and I have a particular passion for public transport. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of an “all you can eat” travel card and a cool transit system to explore a new city. These experiences have not only broadened my horizons but also fueled my interest in real estate.

Transitioning to Real Estate

My professional journey took a significant turn when I transitioned from English teaching to real estate, somewhat by accident. It was an opportunity I seized wholeheartedly, leading to a fulfilling career across various frontier markets, especially Myanmar. Now, when I visit a new place I like to explore not so much the tourist attractions but the flow of normal life which trains, buses, trams and boats provide.
